RoarTools processes all images directly in your browser. No image, photo, signature or document is ever uploaded to our servers. We collect zero personal data.
1. Information We Collect
RoarTools collects no personal information whatsoever. You do not need to create an account or provide a name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information to use this service. No payment information is collected because the service is entirely free.
We do not collect, store, transmit or access your images, photographs, signatures, thumb impressions, handwritten declarations or any other documents you process using our tools. These files are handled exclusively by your own browser and device. If basic analytics are ever enabled in the future, only anonymous aggregated page view counts would be tracked — never personal identity or image data.
To be explicit about what we do NOT collect: your name, email, phone number, location, IP address (beyond what any standard web server logs), device identifiers, browsing history, images you upload, output images you download, or any form data you enter outside of a voluntary contact message.
2. How Your Images Are Processed
All image and document processing on RoarTools uses standard browser APIs that run entirely on your own device. When you upload an image, it is read by the browser's FileReader API, which loads it into temporary browser memory only on your computer or phone. The image is never transmitted over the internet to any server at any point.
Once in browser memory, we use the HTML5 Canvas API to resize, compress, crop or convert the image. This Canvas API is a built-in feature of every modern browser and operates completely locally. The resulting output image is then made available to you as a downloadable Blob URL — another browser-local construct that exists only in your browser session.
For PDF operations (merge, split, compress, convert), we use the pdf-lib and pdf.js libraries loaded from public CDNs. These libraries also run locally in your browser. Your PDF content is never sent to our servers or to the CDN providers for processing. The CDN only serves the JavaScript library files themselves, not your document data.
When you close the browser tab, all image and document data is automatically cleared from browser memory. There is no persistence of your files anywhere on our infrastructure because we have no infrastructure that touches your files. This applies equally to photos, signatures, thumb impressions, handwritten declarations and PDF documents.
3. Cookies and Tracking
RoarTools uses no tracking cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics cookies. The only localStorage use on this site is a single boolean flag that records whether you have dismissed the cookie notice. This flag contains no personal information — it simply stores a true/false value so the notice does not appear on every page after you dismiss it.
We do not use cross-site tracking, browser fingerprinting, session tracking, heat maps, session recording, or any technique designed to identify or follow individual users. There is no advertising network integration on this site.
Google Fonts are loaded from Google's CDN (fonts.googleapis.com) to render the Inter typeface used across the site. This request may be logged by Google as part of their standard CDN operation. Google's privacy policy applies to any such request: policies.google.com/privacy. Similarly, JavaScript libraries such as pdf-lib (from unpkg.com), pdf.js and JSZip (from cdnjs.cloudflare.com), and heic2any (from jsdelivr.net) are loaded from their respective public CDNs. These CDN providers may log the IP address and timing of requests for their files, which is standard practice for any public CDN. We have no control over and receive no data from these logs.
4. Third-Party Services
We rely on a small number of reputable third-party services to deliver RoarTools. None of these services have access to the images or documents you process.
Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com) — Used to load the Inter font family for better readability. Google may log font request metadata. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Cloudflare CDN (cdnjs.cloudflare.com) — Used to serve the pdf.js PDF rendering library and the JSZip compression library. Cloudflare may log CDN request metadata. See Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
unpkg.com — Used to serve the pdf-lib JavaScript library for PDF creation and manipulation. Standard CDN request logging applies.
jsDelivr (jsdelivr.net) — Used to serve the heic2any library for HEIC-to-JPG conversion. Standard CDN request logging applies.
Cloudflare Pages — Our hosting provider. Cloudflare Pages serves this website's HTML, CSS and JavaScript files. Cloudflare may log standard server access data (IP, timestamp, URL requested) as part of normal hosting operations. See Cloudflare's privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
None of these services receive or process your images, documents or personal information through our use of them. They serve static files only.
5. Data Security
The most secure data is data that is never collected in the first place. Because RoarTools stores nothing on its servers — no images, no user accounts, no personal data — there is nothing to protect against unauthorized access and nothing that could be leaked in a security breach.
Your images process entirely within your own browser. The browser memory holding your image data is subject to your operating system's standard memory protections. When the browser tab is closed, the image data is released from memory along with all other tab content.
The RoarTools website is served over HTTPS, provided by Cloudflare's SSL certificate. This encrypts the connection between your browser and the server that serves the HTML, CSS and JavaScript files. This encryption ensures that the tool code itself is delivered securely, though the image processing that happens afterward is local and needs no server connection at all.
There is no database behind RoarTools. No database means no database breach risk. There is no custom server processing your image data, which means there is no application server that could be compromised to expose your files.
6. Children's Privacy
RoarTools is suitable for users of all ages. Because we collect no personal information from anyone, there is no special concern regarding children's data. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 or from anyone else, for that matter.
No account creation is required to use this tool, which means there is no age-gating or age verification process. Parents and guardians can safely allow children to use RoarTools for school project image processing, resizing photos for applications, or any other appropriate use. The tool processes images locally in the browser without any data transmission, making it a privacy-safe choice for younger users.
7. Your Rights
Because RoarTools collects no personal data, many standard data rights are trivially satisfied by our architecture rather than by a formal process.
Right to know — We collect nothing, so there is nothing to disclose about you.
Right to delete — Nothing is stored about you, so there is nothing to delete.
Right to access — Nothing is stored, so there is no data to provide access to.
Right to opt out of tracking — There is no tracking to opt out of.
GDPR compliance — We collect no EU personal data and process no EU user data on any server. Our browser-based architecture is inherently compliant with data minimization principles.
CCPA compliance — We do not collect, sell or share California personal information.
Indian IT Act — No user data is stored or processed on our servers. All processing happens on the user's own device.
If you have any privacy-related concern or question despite the above, please contact us through our contact page.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy occasionally to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. When we make changes, we will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date at the top.
For significant changes that materially affect how we handle information, we will note the change on the homepage. Continued use of RoarTools after the updated policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms. Because we collect nothing, most updates to this policy are clarifications rather than changes to actual data practices.
9. Contact Us
If you have questions, concerns or requests related to this privacy policy, please use our Contact page. We read every message and respond within 48 hours on weekdays. While we do not have a formal privacy officer or legal team for a free tool of this nature, we take every privacy concern seriously and will respond with the information and clarity you need.
When contacting us about a privacy matter, please include: a clear description of your concern, the specific tool or page you were using, and any relevant context. This helps us respond accurately and promptly.
10. Summary
RoarTools is a browser-based image and PDF toolkit. Every image you process stays on your device. We never upload, store, or access your images. We collect zero personal data. We use no tracking cookies. We earn no revenue from your data because we have no data and no monetization of user information.
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and uses a few public CDNs to load fonts and open-source JavaScript libraries. These CDNs log standard server access information as any web server does, but they do not receive or process your images or documents.
Our architecture — static files served from a CDN, with all processing done in your browser — is the most privacy-preserving approach possible for a web-based image tool. Your images stay on your device, always.
